On the night of Tuesday 16 January 2018 a fire of unknown origin destroyed the Walkers Place of Safety on Lyndhurst Road. Two of the 36 children that lived there tragically perished. The Caring Ministry of Sts Peter and Paul Church is asking for the support of the parishioners by donating items of need. These items include clothing in good condition for boys and girls aged 2 to 18 years toiletries such as soap, toothpaste, tooth brushes and shampoo non-perishable food items stuffed toys e.g. teddy bears We would like to collect all donations after 9am Mass this Sunday January 21. If you cannot make it, please call Grace Johnson at 969-9012 to arrange for a mutually convenient transfer. Let us show that we care for these most vulnerable individuals in this their time of greatest need.
This is a Special Appeal to remind you to collect your 2018 Collection Envelopes after Mass. Please advise anyone who may be overseas that they are available.
We are truly grateful for the overwhelming support received during our recent tragedies. We give thanks especially that our altar was re-consecrated and our sacred space partially restored. We have and continue to receive several inquiries regarding the best way to donate to the restoration of the remainder of our church home. All donations can be made via Mr. Giddarie in our parish office and we ask that cheques be made payable to Sts. Peter and Paul Church. Family members who are overseas and wish to donate can also contact Mr. Giddarie for the details regarding bank transfers. Again, thank you for your kind support as we work to restore our spiritual home.
